the space for all of us

have you ever:

avoided gyms because you might feel intimidated, frightened, or insecure?

avoided the gym in fear of harassment in some form or another?

found yourself tired of cookie cutter corporate gyms that don’t care for their equipment and make it too difficult to cancel your membership?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we’ve built this gym with you in mind.

ABOUT US

Here at Allied Strength, we strive to provide a space that is safe and encouraging for our members. Our space is built on community and empathy. Created by Jake Munro, a transman, he knows all too well about the feelings and experiences women and queer people have had at average gyms.

We present an inclusive space for women and LGBTQ+ individuals, focused on providing a safe space that other gyms lack. Men – you are welcomed too! Inclusive is for everyone, exclusive is for only a few.

All of our members are held to a strict decorum and any rule breaking will result in immediate membership cancellation.

This no tolerance policy is essential to keeping our sanctuary the safe space we promise you upon signing up.

About the owner

Hey reader, my name is Jake Munro.

My journey in the world of fitness began when I was just 14 years old. I attended Whitmore Lake High School, where I had the privilege of being a powerlifting instructor during my senior year. At that time, our school held the title of state champs in powerlifting for 10 consecutive years. I firmly believe that exercise is a fundamental human right, and that everyone deserves a space where they can freely and comfortably nurture their physical and mental well-being.

Having worked as a wind turbine technician and traveled across the country, I have had the opportunity to visit numerous gyms. Throughout my experiences, I have encountered and witnessed various issues. These experiences have fueled my determination to bring about positive change here at Allied Strength. As a transgender man, I know first-hand the feeling of unease and discomfort that can come with stepping into a gym. I understand that many of you have experienced the same. My goal is to create an environment where you feel empowered, connected, safe, and inspired here at Allied Strength.

Let us come together as strangers and leave as friends.

“I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live.” – George Bernard Shaw

Thanks for reading, and welcome to Allied Strength.
